Sparkle the Fairy Dog

Maddie Taylor used to be known as Matthew Taylor. Her best-known role was Sparky, a Fairy Dog introduced in Season 9 of Fairly Odd Parents. He was included in the main cast after Poof, who was introduced in Season 8. Creator Butch Hartman stated that he loves adding new characters and animals; according to him, this really expands the show and magical animals weren't done before in FOP.

"[Sparky] doesn't add much magic-wise, but he does add a lot character-wise."

However, Sparky was removed in Season 10 due to low ratings and was replaced with Chloe Carmichael. Taylor enjoyed her role as Sparky (and his counterpart Anti-Sparky) and would have loved to see the character return. Surprisingly, there are fans who agree. Other than Sparky, Taylor was also in Hartman's other work, T.U.F.F. Puppy, as Verminious Snaptrap. She stated that she favored villain roles. Even after her transition, Taylor can still do the voices from when she was Matthew.
