Zoragyo by PinkDuskStone Zoragyo by PinkDuskStone
Romi Park is a Korean-Japanese actress who is known for voicing tough, no-nonsense characters thanks to her contralto voice. Her best-known roles include Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist), Hange Zoe (Attack on Titan), Zoroark (Pokémon: Zoroark--Master of Illusions), and Ragyo Kiriyuin (Kill la Kill). The latter two are especially exemplify how Park can voice mothers who are complete opposites.

Zoroark is a heroic, kind, and loving mother who would risk her own life to protect her adopted son Zorua. Throughout her movie, she is blackmailed by Grings Kodai into attacking cities as Raikou, Entei, and Suicune in exchange for Zorua's safety. She has a distrust of humans at first, even telling her son to never talk to them. After Ash & Co. help her save Zorua and defeat Kodai, she does befriend them and even showed playfulness at the end. Design-wise, she is an example of Dark is Not Evil. She and her son appear in Pokémon Black & White as part of in-game events that can be triggered when you bring the Johto beasts and Celebi. While Zorua and Zoroark have the gender ratio of 87.5%M/12.5%F, these particular Zorua and Zoroark will always be male and female respectively.

Pokémon fans have compared the true main villain of Sun & Moon to Ragyo Kiryuin. After reading about the leader of the Kiryuin Conglomerate, I can see the comparisons. In contrast to Park's role as Zoroark, Ragyo abuses her own daughters and is the big bad of her series. She intends to enslave the human race to Life Fibers and will do anything to achieve it. Ragyo may have great beauty and wears angelic white garments (complete with rainbow in her hair!), but Light is Not Good.

Pokémon belongs to Satoshi Tajiri, Nintendo, GameFreak, and The Pokémon Company. Kill la Kill belongs to Trigger.
